Novelair Peele was given the nickname "Chevy Nova" by a co-worker who couldn't pronounce her birth name. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, now known as "Nova", she has been a lover of music from an early age.

During her formative years Nova credits Aretha Franklin, Cher, Heart, Etta James, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer and Phyllis Hyman as influences on her vocal style and delivery. Current musical influences are Ella Fitzgerald, Abbey Lincoln, Sarah Vaugh, and Nancy Wilson.

She has shared the stage with Roberta Flack, Regina Belle, Phil Perry, The O'Jays and Al Green. And has recorded with International Artist Crystal Waters, Deanna Bogart Jordan Paige, and Bluesman Charles "Big Daddy" Stallings.

Nova is a singer/song writer has a broad range of vocal styles and loves to perform across a variety of genres of music such as R & B, Funk, Blues & Jazz, Classic Rock, and Country.
